Kindly recommend Prof. H.M. Marulasiddaiah for Karnataka Rajyothsava Award 2016 for Social work or Social Work Education. Its he who coined the term ‘Samajakarya’. HMM has contributed extensively to Kannada literature and also to social work literature on the basis of field work and research. Trough social work education he has trained thousands of students. He is also from Bellary. The man who conceived “Nirmala Karnataka” needs to be recognized.

Rajyotsava Award to Prof HMM is a recognition not only to the Pitamaha of Social Work Education in Karnataka, but also recognising the field of Social Work in Karnataka. A Rajyotsava Award to HMM will only bring more value to the state award. Everyone in the field of Social Work/SamajaKarya should be canvasing for this

I strongly recommend Dr H M Marulasiddiah for the Karnataka Raajyotsava Award!
I have worked with him as a representative for Mid Sweden University Dep. of Social work, and it was always interesting and educational to talk to him. "So much to do, and so little time", he used to say. How true.
Together we published the book "Devotion and empowerment: Mid Sweden University students report on social work in rural India 1988-1995"
From the forword:
"This book is based on the experiences of Mid Sweden University students who chose to do their social work field practice in rural India. The student supervision by Professor H.M. Marulasiddaiha and social worker Mr. H.B. Kanni in India was essential to these field reports. I strongly believe and recommend Professor H M Marulasiddiaha for hi contribution social work education. I was fortunate to be his student when he was HOD of Social Work Department BANGALORE University.
I still remember his quote "Kasavallavidu kasavaram"
