Usirigaagi Hasiru – Green for Breath is an Initiative of likeminded youth having concern towards environment and its protection. On 26. 01.2015, a group of youth consists 5 members have celebrated 66th Republic Day by planting 22 saplings in a small village namely Chalakyalaparthy of Chickaballapur District. Planting of different kinds of saplings in civic amenities like school, college, PHC, Temple, Police Station, Grmapanchayath premises and make community responsible for its protection. Since its inception from fast one year, the members of group have planted as many as 1301 saplings in the various parts of Chickaballapur, Kolar, Bengaluru Urban and Rural Districts. The survival rate is 83.70% as on January 2016. Apart from this the members have also organised awareness programs on discouraging the use of plastic and environment protection. By organising Silent Protest to Develop Eucalyptus Free Forests in Chickaballapur on 31.12.2016 the members of group have created History. The Deputy Commissioner of Chickaballapur has agreed to extend the unconditional support to eradicate eucalyptus completely at the time of receiving Memorandum. Date 20.02.2016 (Saturday) Time 10:45 a.m. Place CMS Jain College, Beside Hotel Atria, Bengaluru With this background, the group members are celebrating the first year anniversary by unveiling the Annual report on 20.02.2016 at CMS-Jain College, Opp to Maharani Science College, Beside Hotel Atria, Bengaluru. The programme will be inaugurated by Mrs. Premakumari, an agriculturist who is also actively working for women empowerment, Dr. YallappaReddy, a well known environmentalist who will unveil the annual report of the group, Mr. Chowdappa, recipient of the Rajyatsava award for his contribution to the field of environment and Mr. Janardhana Kesaragadde, Specialist in ground water recharging will be the chief guests of the event.
