Preface
'What is life?'
If you ask this question to a few persons, you will get as many answers as the number of persons to whom you asked. Each one gives a different answer. Simply because life has offered each one a different perspective and each one has viewed life differently based on his value system, belief system, socio-cultural factors, etc. It is very nicely told 'In the Question Paper called 'Life', do not copy answers from others, because each one has been given a different question paper!'

For some people, life is a struggle whereas, for some others, life means taking things easy. A few people feel that they need to achieve great things in life whereas, for some others, life is meant only for merriment i.e., eating, smoking, liquor, etc., For a few people, life is meant only for amassing wealth whereas, for others, life is meant to serve the humanity. Similarly, on one extreme, we have people who are extremely disciplined in life and, on the other extreme, we find people who have taken life very casually. Whereas some people enjoy the journey of life, some others are always conscious of their life goals. Whereas for some people, life is meant only to work hard, for some others, life is more for relaxation. For some, life is meant for acquiring vast knowledge, but, for many others, life is meant for freaking out. Whereas some people feel that, in life, the work should be given top priority, for others, family stands the first. For some, life is meant more for romance and some others believe in extreme celibacy.

Whereas some people believe in immediate results in life, others believe in gradual improvement. Some people feel life is more of cribbling and, for others, life is constant enjoyment. A few people believe that, in life, you need to speak more, whereas, others feel you need to listen more.

Some people would like to enjoy the first glimpse of Sun and hence get up early in the morning. Others would not like to miss the bliss of morning sleep!  Some people would feel that life is meant to express your thoughts to others, others feel you should talk more within yourself. Whereas, some can never forget the unpleasant past, others get going in life leaving the past behind. Some people believe that anything in life is pre-written and decided by the destiny, whereas others fool your life is scripted by you and you alone need to put in efforts to make your life more worthy and enjoyable. This way, you can go on and on....

The best definition of life I liked is that life is a 'CELEBRATION!' and this book attempts to convince you that life is truly a celebration.

The very first emotion that erupts in you whenever you think of a celebration is 'Joy'. There cannot be a celebration without joy. This book gives you various guidelines to lead a joyful life. The book also helps you to achieve your goals. With lot of inputs on positive attitude, the book helps you to introspect and apply necessary attitudinal corrections to lead a successful and satisfied life. The book also gives you guidelines to inculcate positive life styles i.e. good food habits, physical exercises, peace of mind and stable emotions.

You need people to participate in the celebration. You cannot carry out a celebration all by yourself. This book contains valuable guidelines about how to establish good relations with people - at workplace and in the family.

For celebrating any event, you need to be extremely motivated and this book gives you tips for developing self motivation.

For carrying out any celebration, you need to manage your stress and this book provides effective techniques for stress management.

With a number of insights on the rationale and logics of life, this book is expected to make you more curious and inquisitive to understand, decode and crack the mystery called 'Life'.

In this book, I have attempted to crystallize the learnings I have had in two decades of my professional work and another approximately 25 years of experience a of training 400,000 (4 Iakhs) people in about 500 organisations in India and abroad. It has been my endeavour to arouse the curiosity of the reader enabling him to look at life closely to embark upon the journey of life and be successful.

Throughout this book, it is my sincere endeavour to relieve a battered body, integrate a shattered mind, focus the confused intellect, heal the emotional wounds of mankind enabling people to lead a purposeful, holistic, focused and enjoyable life.

The book has been written in a modular fashion so that you can read any article at your convenience. The objective of every article in this book is to give insight into how to really celebrate one's life.

I am grateful to my wife Rajani, my faculty Padma Hemanth, my team members Sindhu, Shwetha and many others who have lent great support to ensure that this book is brought out.

If there is one person to whom I owe my greatest thanks and gratitude, it is the young and energetic, Ms. Meghana Hanumesh. She is a store house of energy, ever thirsty of knowledge, incredibly efficient in work and a role model in maintaining relationships. She has worked tirelessly with exemplary commitment and tremendous dedication to bring out this book. Every page of this book is a testimony of her passion to work, achieve and, above all, to celebrate life!

If this book convinces the reader that life is truly a celebration I feel my attempt has been worthwhile.

Wish you all the best in celebrating your life!
