A word for Indian Edition
Â
Field practice reports prepared by the social work students of Mid Sweden University (1988-1995) under my supervision were published in a volume by the same University in 2008. The social work educators and the students in lndia found the volume a worthy contribution to the development of international social work and a source of inspiration for the Indian social work students as well. That is why they considered that an Indian edition of the Volume is a valuable guide for social work students in their field practice. Secondly, the volume would bring the rural Indian situation vividly to the notice of the Indian readers. Hence the Indian edition is brought out by the reputed Indian Publisher. I express, on behalf of the Indian social work professionals, the sincere thanks to the publishers of the Indian edition at the minimum cost price and to the Mid Sweden University for allowing the volume to be brought out in India. I hope the Indian social work professionals and other readers would be greatly benefited. 1 regretfully acknowledge that there are certain spelling mistakes though not major ones.
